In wrestling, there are a few special moments that live on history. Moments that are etched and frozen in time. Less then one week ago. One of the biggest names in the history of our great sport signed the contract to compete for CWE.
To honor a very special occasion. A press conference was held in Los Angeles, CA. The hometown of one of the greatest wrestling icons to step into the ring in the last five years.
Over a thousand fans and wrestling reporters are attending this event. Which for a press conference is a pretty big turnout.
First up to the podium is Genesis' agent. Marcus Corven. Many of whom may remember him for portraying a General Manager role in a defunct Memphis-based territory several years back. Now, he makes a living being Genesis' right hand man for handling all of Gen's business assets, appointments, money, etc. You name it.
M. Corven: Myself, and Brandon Payne. The one, whom many of you know as the self-proclaimed: "King of Controversy" Genesis. Are happy to announce that as of today. Genesis is now officially apart of the CWE Roster. He & I are very much looking forward to working alongside Shane Andrews, and everyone else associated with the CWE organization. Instead of me telling you all about it. How about we bring out the man himself, shall we ?
Genesis gets up and approaches the podium. Shaking Cornell's hand as he steps up to the plate, so to speak.
Thank You ! Indeed, it is an honor and a privilege to be apart of Cyber Wrestling Entertainment. I've had the pleasure of working with many many top wrestling federations over the last almost five years. Alot of championship belts, accomplishments, awards, you name it in my resume. But with CWE. I view this as a new challenge. A different type of challenge. One that I haven't done since my rookie year. And that's work with a wrestling organization that isn't built to be the 'perfect' efed. Or have all the big named stars or a huge reputation to live up to.
THIS is a new adventure. One that I am truly proud, and want to be a huge part of.
Let it be known right now as I stand here today. Or may the good lord himself strike me down where I stand. I'm not coming to CWE for free publicity, or to put myself at a higher standard then the other competitors here. Cause that couldn't be no further from the truth.
If anything, I am here in CWE to serve a purpose. To enhance the product. To give this organization everything I have, and then some to make sure that CWE will flourish and live on for a very long time.
Alot of things have gone down with me over the last several months. I've commented on many occasions of my unhappiness with the New York & Atlanta organization. Both for there own reasons respectively. I've had some great times there. And always will be indebted to the people working there for all they have given me. But I feel that with all the creative differences aside. CWE is the place I need to be at. Its the place that I want to retire in. Seattle Washington is my new home ! Seattle is my new 'kingdom'.
The one thing I am most excited about is competing with new stars. A new generation of professional wrestlers. Alot of whom I've never faced. Wrestlers who I never had the opportunity to work with in the ring.
This organizations serves with many many great opportunities that I can't even begin to start with. But, after having some very lengthy discussions with the quote unquote 'Powers That Be' here in CWE. I just got the feeling that THIS federation is what every wrestling organization should be like.
You don't have to have the best of everything. Its not all about looks or how many big stars you have. You don't really need all of that to be deemed "successful".
We have at least under two months in counting to the official grand opening of CWE wrestling. I'm very excited about that as well as everyone else on the roster.
I want the fans to know one thing. That I will give everything I've got in my power to make sure that CWE takes off and becomes what its destined to be. And that my friends is a success !
So come late October or November. The King of Controversy will unleash hell. I'm not here to win a popularity contest. I'm not here to play Mr. Nice Guy. I'm here to kick ass, take names, & bust skulls. One wrestler at a time.
I don't have to be your hero, folks.
But its your job to ACT like I am .
With that being said. Genesis takes his leave from the podium in pure egotistical Genesis fashion. The fans were loving every second of it. Strap yourselves in folks. Cause were in for one helluva ride come 2010.
