(OOC: Continued from --> My World, As It Once Was)
The paramedics get back to the local hospital. Where Amy is rushed inside the emergency room. Nurses and Doctor's frantically rush her into one of the rooms nearby. Her breathing was very shallow. Her blood pressure was still fairly low. On the way to the hospital. The paramedics performed CPR, and various other techniques. However, there efforts failed and Amy was still unconscious.
One of the main doctor's on board issues an immediate cat scan to be performed on her. To check for any kind of bleeding, or hemorrhaging. At the very least. It appeared that she could very well be suffering from a bad concussion.
**1 Hour Later**
(8:30 am)
Amy is taken out of the scanner by this time. After a half hour of heavy analyzing. The doctor's concur that Amy is officially lapsed into a coma. With at least two blood clots in her head. Leading her to the conclusion that she has developed Brain Ischemia (or Cerebral Ischemia). A very dangerous and potentially life threatening disordering. Affecting her speaking skills, body movement, and can sometimes impair your vision.
From there, with no time to lose. She is rushed into the operating room. The doctor's perform an operation to remove the clots in her brain. In hopes this would be enough to stop the swelling.
**7 Hours Later**
(3:30 pm)
The surgery was now finally over. It had proven to be a success. The swelling in her brain was starting to show signs of decreasing. The blood vessels in her brain had been opened up to circulate the blood flow. Thus, eliminating the blood clots. On a sad note, however. Amy was still in a coma.
After it was all over with. She was taken to the ICU for observation. The doctor's didn't want to take any chances with her and felt that while the worst might be over. Amy was going to have a long fight ahead of her in order to get well.
In a matter of less then 24 hours. Amy's world was turned upside down. Her mother was brutally murder. The killer was still on the loose. Amy was lying in the hospital in a comatose state. With no family living nearby to visit her. She was literately all alone. With all the hospital staff to look after, and care for her.
**9 years later**
(around 8:00 pm)
It was now April 2009. For nine long years. Amy laid there in a coma. Hooked up to every machine possible. To put it bluntly. She was on life support. The chances of her coming out of her coma were as slim as a needle in a haystack.
Back in 2005. The doctor's were involved in a heavy debate with the city of Chicago on whether or not to take her off of life support. To let nature take its course. Letting god decide her fate. The city fought in Amy's defense. Even after all these years, and after the terrible incident of that night in July 2000. The city of Chi-Town thought it was best to carry on hope. Hope... that one day. Amy would awaken.
Well... fast forward back to Spring 2009. That day had finally come.
Nurse: Doctor ! Come here quick ! Its 'her', I think she's trying to open her eyes.
Doctor Richards, who'd help take care of Amy after her surgery rushed in to see what was going on. As the nurse and Dr. Richards stood over her, watching Amy. As her eyes began to slowly open up.
Doctor Richards: Ma'am. Can you hear us ? Can you speak ?
Amy nodded her head in approval.
Nurse: Can you tell us your name ?
My... my name ?
(slight pause)
I'm sorry... but, I don't remember.
Dr. Richards: Its alright sweetie. In your condition to be...
My... condition ?
Dr. Richards: Yes... your condition.
Wha.... what happened ?
Dr. Richards: *sighs* Well ma'am. You were brought here to this hospital nine years ago. After running several tests. We found that due to the blunt forced trauma suffered from the blow to your head. You were diagnosed with Brain Ischemia. Which in turn, caused your brain to swell. We had no choice other then to operate on you.
She moved her hand slowly. Rubbing her fingertips across the crown of her head. Feeling the place where she was operated on.
Dr. Richards: The place your feeling right now is where we operated on you from. Don't worry. The scar will hardly be noticeable to the human eye. From the time you arrived here. You fell into a coma.
I don't mean to frighten you. But... its been a little over nine years since you were awake.
N... Nine Years !?
The doctor nods his head.
WOW... that long huh ?
Dr. Richards: Yeah... that long. Listen do you remember anything at all ? Anything from your past ? From the night you were brought here ?
I... I remember. I remember...
*Images start to flash through her head at random. All she could remember was the blood of her fallen mother*
Bla... Blood. I remember seeing lots of blood in a room. And... there was a woman there.
Dr. Richards: Uh huh ! I see. Can you tell me anything else ?
Um... Umm.
Amy tried and tried. But she couldn't remember anything else at all about that night. But given the circumstances. Would she want to remember what happened ?
Dr. Richards: (with a smile on his face). Just take it easy, okay ? If you remember anything else, or if you start feeling sick ? Please let us know, m'kay ?
Amy nods her head.
Dr. Richards: Alright, that's my girl.
Dr. Richards and the nurse leave the room. Amy stared up at the ceiling. Wondering why she was here ? Who she was ? Why was she getting these grotesque images in her mind ?
To Be Continued.
