Headline: HOGAN SAYS THAT TNA IMPACT RATINGS WILL "TRIPLE" ON JANUARY 4
Story: When interviewed by Arda Ocal and Corey Erdman of the "Right After Wrestling" program on SIRIUS 98, Hulk Hogan predicted that Nielson ratings would triple to a 3.0 on his debut appearance on TNA Impact on Monday January 4. Hogan went on to list names such as AJ Styles and Matt Morgan as guys with "something there" and that he will look to mold and "bring to life".
The full interview will air on "Right After Wrestling" on Monday night December 14 at 11pm EST on SIRIUS Channel 98, Hardcore Sports Radio.

Thoughts: "Hulk Hogan predicted that Nielson ratings would triple to a 3.0 on his debut" = BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA !!!
The biggest load of crap I've ever read ^^^. How in the world can TNA get a "3.0" when they can't even stay above a 1.1. or 1.2 on a weekly basis ? Or better yet. Lucky to even get those numbers anymore here as of late.

I wonder if their ratings will even improve in the first place. But seriously, if that show is going to be anything like last night's Impact, I'm not watching. lol

I love it! Hogan has single handidly brought back kayfabe, and you all are eating at the trough blissfully and with passion. He really should have said that TNA was going to be so huge that the Neilson ratings would cease to exist because they could not measure the pure awesomeness of what was going to occur. But still, I love it that everyone thinks it's all real again. As professional wrestling should be. Next.... the return of the Easter Bunny.

That is one good, yet interesting way of looking at it. Not saying I don't agree with you, Rayne. I'd love for Kayfabe to return and have wrestling feel 'real' again.
I don't want to get off track from the topic & dive into one about kayfabe. But I will say that Hogan's comments. While they will certainly generate mixed feelings amongst every wrestling fan. Some, like me honestly. May look at his comments & laugh it off as a joke. Others may look at this optimistically and feel that TNA may have a real shot here. Who's to say that Hogan really could pull this off & generate another future "Monday Night War" ?
Do I see that happening ? In my opinion, no. I think TNA has potential to compete with Vince someday. But right now, at this stage. There nowhere near close to doing that. No matter how many veterans they have on there roster or how many young guys they "attempt" to push & make stars out of.
Can it happen ? Yes it can. I could be wrong, and others like me could be wrong as well on this. Personally, I'd love to see anybody go out there and legitimately compete with Vince & the WWE. Not because I want to see an organization like TNA Wrestling put Vince out of business, or vice versa if history repeats itself again. But I think having competition is good for the wrestling business.
I think in today's state of wrestling. With all of us wrestling fans in general knowing the in's & out's of pro wrestling that we may, or may not have known years ago growing up. Its going to be very very difficult to bring Kayfabe back. Much less to even think of the possibility that Kayfabe can be brought back into wrestling. To me, it all seems more like a pipe dream then a reality.
Besides, a magic show isn't a magic show anymore once the audience knows how the magician performs his tricks and/or stunts. Same goes for professional wrestling.

That's the beauty of it. The business of professional wrestling is the new kayfabe. ;D A single day of ratings means nothing in the actual scheme of things. TNA has a brand new three year deal in place, ratings are "really" not that important for them right now. But Hogan comes and turn it into free buzz, face palms, laughter, and ~drumroll~ attention. It's lovely.
That being said, after the mud wrestling? I won't be watching much for a while.
But still, brilliant. ;D
